15 Fun Facts About Me

I don’t think I’ve ever done an “About Me” kind of thing. Instead of the basic “I’m from MA and I have 2 dogs” type of deal I tried to get pretty creative and think of the most fun/interesting 15 things about me. So here we go:

1. I never wanted to play lacrosse, then ended up playing in college.

When I was in 8th grade my sister started playing lacrosse and kept wanting me to try too. I literally had 0 interest. She would practice outside with her stick and I would play catch with her using a baseball glove instead. One day I tried using her stick and the rest is history.

2. I accidentally chose my college major.

When I was applying to SNHU, I didn’t know that “undecided” was called “exploratory studies” so I just clicked Marketing because I couldn’t find the undecided option!! I kind of knew what marketing was so I just went for it…glad it all worked out!

3. I can play the violin.

I started playing the violin in Strings Attached in 6th grade and honestly it was one of the most fulfilling life decisions I’ve made. I met some of my best friends in Strings, got a whole class period to hang out with my friends from 6th-12th grade, AND even got to travel because of it which leads me to…

4. I traveled to Ireland & Italy by the time I was 18.

My freshman year of high school I went to Ireland with Strings, and junior year was Italy. Two opportunities of a lifetime that many high schoolers aren’t able to experience. I got pretty lucky getting to not only vacation with my family and best friends, but also be able play some concerts overseas. It was so much fun and truly two of the highlights of my life.

5. I am a HUGE hockey fan.

I was born into a hockey loving family and loved watching all my cousins play. I’ve only ever worn hockey skates, have been going to Bruins games since I was little, and have been following the NHL for as long as I can remember. By the time I was like 13 I could name every team in the league and had already experienced my first Stanley Cup parade. One of my dream jobs is to work in the NHL and my Dad still thinks I could be the first female GM in the league!

6. I love to cook.

I learned most of what I know from watching my big Italian family cook over the years. Honestly that taught me more than any cooking class or cookbook ever could, and there’s really nothing quite like my family’s food…it’s the best.

7. I have never dated anyone.

Figured I’d throw this one in since I feel like it’s pretty rare for the average 22-year-old, but yeah, it’s the truth…never had a boyfriend! Honestly, better off based on my experiences!

8. I hate watching TV.

I don’t know why but I’ve never been a TV lover. Any shows I have to pay attention to and spend hours watching just don’t appeal to me. Really the only shows I’ve ever watched fully were like Jersey Shore and the Kardashians. I’d rather be out and about than on a couch all day anyway.

9. I somehow hurt myself or got sick on just about every family vacation/outing.

Ok so at the time it’s awful but looking back it can be pretty hilarious. Let’s reminisce: knee stuck in fence at 6 flags, toe gets infected & explodes in Disney, nurse thought I had appendicitis in Italy, caught a cold on the family Bermuda cruise…the list goes on!

10. I am an ordained minister.

I did this online as a joke, but honestly, I think it’s real? I’m still not sure...but I guess I can legally marry people? Each year on the anniversary of becoming ordained I get an e-mail saying “Greetings Reverend Christina!” It’s been 5 years…

11. I’m really good at geography.

This is definitely a weird brag, but I can name every state and most countries on a map. I also have a really good sense of direction probably because I used to enjoy looking at Google Earth too much as a child.

12. I have two tattoos.

I have my Noni’s handwriting on my ribs, and three birds on my foot for myself & two sisters. Hopefully more to come in the future.

13. I take pride in my Spotify playlists.

I’m a huge music person and I really do love most genres of it. I have a lot of Spotify playlists because of that, and some of them actually have a decent number of followers considering its Spotify! I switched to apple music once and hated it, my friends even told me it was weird because Spotify is just “my thing.”

14. I hate winter…like I feel so strongly about this.

I really, really, hate the cold. I’ve actually cried at the sight of snow before and I’ve noticed my mood just really sucks in the winter too because I hate it so much. I’ve even tried to be more appreciative of living in New England but spending 9 months in the cold and 3 in warmth just doesn’t do it for me.

15. I’m obsessed with HGTV.

I’ve always had an interest in real estate, interior design, and home renovations since I was little. One of my favorite memories as a kid was watching house hunters with my mom and guessing which house the people would buy. Also, my mom is probably the handiest woman I’ve ever seen so watching her tile walls, lay down hardwood floor, landscape the whole yard, and make all the curtains in our house was so unreal to me. One day I want to flip my own house just like she did to ours.
